Overview

This three-day safari takes you from the highlands of Mutolere in Kisoro to the wildlife-rich savannahs of Queen Elizabeth National Park, combining scenic road journeys, classic game drives, and a relaxing boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. Staying at either Tabingi Safari Lodge or bush lodge throughout the trip, the itinerary is designed for unhurried exploration, balanced wildlife viewing, and comfortable lodge time, before returning back to Mutolere on the final day.

Itinerary

Day 1

transfer to queen Elizabeth national park (medley of wonders)

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up at in Mutolere, Kisoro, followed by a scenic transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a journey of approximately 6–7 hours including stops. The drive winds through rolling hills, cultivated countryside, and changing vegetation zones, offering beautiful views along the way. You will enjoy lunch en route at a selected stop before continuing toward the park. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you may choose to embark on an optional afternoon or early evening game drive, a perfect introduction to the park’s diverse wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and possibly lions as they become active in the cooler hours.

Day 2

game drives and boat cruise

The day starts early with a morning game drive lasting about 3–4 hours, taking advantage of prime wildlife viewing conditions as predators return from hunting and herbivores graze in the open plains. You will explore different sectors of the park, scanning the savannah and crater landscapes for lions, leopards, elephants, and a wide variety of birdlife. After returning to the lodge for lunch and a short rest, the afternoon is dedicated to a relaxing boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, a 2-hour experience that brings you remarkably close to hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and countless water birds along the banks. The calm cruise offers excellent photographic opportunities and a different perspective of the park. You then return to the lodge for dinner and another peaceful overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3

transfer back to hotel (Kisoro)

Your final day begins with an early morning game drive of about 2–3 hours, providing one last chance to spot wildlife you may have missed and to enjoy the quiet beauty of the park at sunrise. After the drive, you return to the lodge for breakfast and check-out before beginning the transfer back to Mutolere in Kisoro. The return journey takes approximately 6–7 hours, with scenic views and comfort stops along the way. You will arrive in Mutolere in the late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of a rewarding three-day safari filled with wildlife encounters, scenic landscapes, and memorable moments in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
