This chimpanzee themed experience gives you a 360 full scope of the chimpanzee experience bringing you as close to the primates that share about 90% DNA with human beings. Taking you to destinations such as Kibale forest national Park home to about 1500 chimpanzees out of about 4350 chimpanzee population in Uganda making it home to the highest population of chimpanzees in the pearl of Africa. You will as well visit the Uganda wildlife education center in Entebbe for a close up experience with these beautiful creatures. Along this safari you will chances of viewing other primates like Olive baboons, blue monkeys red tailed monkeys and nocturnal primates like pottos and bush babies.

Itinerary

Day 1

arrival, pick up and transfer to Kibale forest national park

Upon landing in Uganda, you will be warmly received by our safari guide who will drive you to the western part of the pearl of Africa. On your arrival, you will be received at the lodge, check in and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. As you prepare to explore the home to the largest population of chimpanzee in the country. Meal plan: full board. Accommodation: Chimpundu lodge.

Day 2

Chimpanzee habituation

At break of dawn you will start the day with a delicious morning meal as you embark on chimpanzee habituation highlight. this experience takes on the hole day as you spend ample time with chimpanzees that hold about 90% DNA match with human beings. Here you get to see their ways of feeding, hunting and gathering food. Their grooming rituals and how they take care of their communities. This activity starts as early as 6:30am with a briefing at kanyachu visitors’ center. After the briefing you are guided by park guides and a few researchers into the jungle. After finding the chimpanzee communities, you spend a full day watching these chimpanzees and how they build their arboreal night nests for comfortable sleeping. After this captivating experience you will head back to the lodge for dinner and relaxation time. Meal plan: full board. Accommodation: Chimpundu lodge.

Day 3

Chimpanzee tracking Kibale forest national park

A hearty breakfast will set the tone of the day giving you the energy to get ready and face the next adventure. Our tour guide will drive you to the park headquarters where the highlight will commence. Having found the chimpanzee community, you are to spend an hour in the required proximity with the chimpanzees with your face masks on. This experience can last about 1-5hours depending on the location and the mobility of these creatures in their natural habitat.
Your memorable experience in Kibale forest national park can be combined with an amazing bigodi swamp walk. One of the breathtaking nature walks you can experience in Uganda. With a serene environment, encompassed with a cool atmosphere and filled with smooth sounds of nature, you get to enjoy this walk bigodi wetland sanctuary. A 3hour walks of about 4.5km. Here you can view a scenic beauty, and birds such as Hornbills, turracos, kingfishers, cranes and parrots among others.
After enjoying these highlights you will head back to the lodge for relaxation and dinner time as you reminisce about the beauties of your experiences. Meal plan: full board. Accommodation: Chimpundu

Day 4

transfer to Entebbe

At the break of dawn, you will start the day with a morning repast, then check out and bid farewell to Kibale forest national Park. Your drive through Kampala city might be include optional activities like visiting historical sites like the independence monument and cultural sites like kasubi tombs or visiting the Nakasero market for a variety of Crafts and fruits. Upon arrival, you will settle in and recharge your energy with a quality relaxation time

Day 5

chimpanzee close up experience at UWEC and departure

Having had not just a relaxed breakfast but a delicious one, you will settle in for yet another close up experience with the chimpanzees at Uganda wildlife education center. The chimpanzee close up experience is like no other experience where you get close to these stunning primates, you are able to take them on a walk with the help of a keeper, you can hold their hand as though you were on an aisle. You as well be part of their grooming rites and take part in chimpanzee integration experience in a controlled environment. As if it' just started, you watch these creatures express their requests to the caregiver requesting for a fruit (banana) peeling it and eating it on their own or watch them enjoy a hot beverage (porridge) and also watch the care giver interpret their gestures. This activity lasts about an hour and at its completion you will leave this education center as story teller. Meal plan: full board.
After this highlight our tour guide will drive you to Entebbe international airport for departure flight.
