Overview

Experience Rwanda's rich history: visit the ethnographic and archaeological collections. This museum is a gift from Belgium’s King Bedouin in honor of Rwanda’s 25th anniversary of independence. visit the gorilla guardian’s village a great place to learn about Rwanda’s culture. Gishwati mukara is Rwanda’s newest and smallest national park and is situated with treasures such as chimpanzees, blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and L’hoest monkeys. A variety of bird species such as the regal sunbird, Ruwenzori batis, martial eagle and the purple breasted sunbird.

Itinerary

Day 1

arrival and transfer to volcanoes national park. (Gorilla guardians’ village)

Upon arrival, you will be received warmly by your safari guide who will brief you about your safari and drive south to Musanze district where you will visit the gorilla guardian’s village a great place to learn about Rwanda’s culture. The rehabilitated village is a non-profit cultural village run by rehabilitated poachers allowing guests to try first hand Rwandan cultural crafts and cultural ceremonies. After this immersing session you will proceed to volcanoes national park (lodge) for accommodation and overnight stay

Day 2

gorilla tracking and transfer to Gishwati mukara National park.

Having enjoyed your morning breakfast you will head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the rules and regulations of the adventurous activity. The activity might take about 3-5 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family in their natural habitat. After this adventure you will drive back to the lodge check out and then drive to Gishwati mukara national park a two drive. Upon arrival you will check in and relax as you wait for your diner and as you prepare for the next adventure.

Day 3

chimpanzee tracking and birding: Gishwati mukara National park

Gishwati mukara is Rwanda’s newest and smallest national park and is situated with treasures such as chimpanzees, blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and L’hoest monkeys. A variety of bird species such as the regal sunbird, Ruwenzori batis, martial eagle and the purple breasted sunbird. With these species a breathtaking chimpanzee tracking and bird watching activity await you.

Day 4

transfer to Nyungwe national park: canopy walk experience.

After enjoying your morning repast you will check out and transfer to Rwanda’s largest forest national park. Nyungwe national park is known for chimpanzee tracking and the adventurous 160metre canopy walk suspended 70metres high above the montane rainforest. After this activity you will head to the lodge for relaxation time, overnight stay and dinner.

Day 5

After enjoying the morning you will gear up for the chimpanzee tracking activity in the park. The activity starts by a briefing by the park warden about the rules for maximum safety and satisfaction from the experience and can take 3-4hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees in the forest. After this amazing experience you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 6

transfer to kings palace museum in Nyanza

After enjoying breakfast you will checkout and drive to Nyanza a 2hour drive. In nyanza you will visit the kings palace museum, a beautiful crafted thatched dwelling. This place was the heart of Rwanda and according to history it was a site of battles and political power struggles. The kingdoms capital was a mobile monarch till it settled permanently in nyanza. Here you will learn more about Rwanda’s ancient culture and history. After the experience you will drive to the hotel in Kigali upon arrival you will check in relax and reminisce about the marvels of the safari as you await your departure flight the next day.

Day 7

cycling in the mountains

Rwanda also known as the land of a thousand hills has Ideal Mountain riding paths. This experience enables you to explore and appreciate the countries amazing scenery. With professional and qualified guides and bicycle technicians for travelers who settle in for this thrilling experience. In case you travel with your own bicycles there a rental bicycles for this activity. After your experience you will head back at the lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 8

anthropological museum: Huye

At dawn you will have breakfast and drive south to Huye district. Visit Africa’s most impressive ethnographic and archaeological collections. This museum is a gift from Belgium’s King Badouin in honor of Rwanda’s 25th anniversary of independence. The seven galleries showcase historical, artistic, anthropological and archeological artifacts supported by visual aids giving visitors a comprehensive understanding of the country’s culture. After this experience you will drive north to Kigali for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9

departure

Having enjoyed your breakfast you will drive to Kigali international airport for your departure flight.
