Itinerary

Day 1

Kigali city tour

Starting the safari right from the closest highlight, Kigali city tour. This experience will include visiting Kigali genocide memorial for deeper insight on the historical transformation of the country. The parliament museum as well will be a destination to visit, also detailing a political and historical perception of the country. Visiting the famous kimironko market will be worth awhile, a place that expresses the city’s cultural and sustainable living, with a variety of handmade crafts for memorable souvenir. Concluding the day will be visiting the old Kigali. Taking a look back at how the city has gained its currents stature. Having completed a comprehensive city tour, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and relaxation time. Meal plan: full board, accommodation: hotel des mille collines.

Day 2

Akagera national park

Having had a delicious breakfast you will check out, and then drive to Akagera national park. Upon arrival you will check in settle in for lunch in the savannah then continue and experience a breath taking launch cruise on lake Ihema then closing day two in style you will enjoy an evening game drive and view wild life like zebras, hyenas and worlds fearless hunter the African lion. Meal plan: full board. Accommodation: Akagera game lodge

Day 3

Game drive and transfer to volcanoes national park

On a relaxed morning after having a morning meal, you will head into the savannah for a full day game drive and add on the previous days amazing moments viewing game such as elephants, rhinos, and giraffes and enjoying a great birding session since the park is home to over 500 bird species including the shoe bills at the river banks of river Akagera. After these great moments you will head back to the lodge, check out and then drive to volcanoes national park. If possible you can take a moment to get the feel of the surroundings by going for a trail walk that might come along with possible sightings of primate species like olive baboons, and a variety of tree species within the park. Day 4

Golden monkey trekking and transfer to the pearl of Africa

At dawn, your day will start with breakfast prepping you for golden monkey highlight. Our safari guide will drive you to the park headquarters. The activity starts with a briefing by the park warden, having found the golden monkey troops, you spend an hour in close range with them if not keeping up with their pace swinging within bamboo trees. After this adventurous activity you will enjoy your packed lunch then drive back to the lodge. You will later check out and drive into the next half of your safari in Uganda. Here you will need your documents of identification for border crossing. Upon arrival you will check in at Lake Murehe safari lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 5

Gorilla tracking

At the break of dawn, you will enjoy a rise and shine meal then drive to the park headquarters. Uganda’s best highlight starts with a briefing from the park warden about the do’s and don’ts of the activity. Having found the gorillas you spend an hour viewing them in close proximity with security from park rangers. You will then enjoy your packed lunch then head back to the lodge a relaxation time. Day 6

Transfer to Queen elizabeth national park (The medley of wonders)

After enjoying a full breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive to the medley of wonders. The drive might take about 5-6 hours drive through the adventurous terrain of the south western Uganda. Upon arrival, you will check in have lunch then enjoy an afternoon or evening game drive and have chances of viewing game such as plain zebras African elephants, African buffaloes, topis and giraffes. Day 7

Ishasha sector and tree climbing lions

On day seven awaits a thrilling and enlightening experience of tracking the tree climbing lions. A trait that’s remarkably amazing about these beautiful lions. Enabling the lions to regulate their body temperatures on cooler altitudes, enabling them with leverage over territory intruders and prey. Later you can settle in for an evening game drive where you can view more game such as topis, plain zebras, cape buffaloes and elephants. Day 8

Safari dame drive and launch cruise

At dawn having had breakfast, on a relaxed morning you will embark on a morning game drive. Here you will be able to view game such as zebras and giraffes foraging and enjoying their habitat. You can as well test you photography touch by taking this time to capture stunning photos of the moment then after lunch you head on for a soothing launch cruise on kazinga channel that connects the two rift-valley lakes. After the launch cruise you will head back to the lodge enjoy dinner and overnight stay. Meal plan: full board, accommodation: QE bush lodge

Day 9

Transfer to Kibale forest camp (the chimp capital of Uganda)

Early morning of day nine, breakfast will set the tone of the day. You will check out and our tour guide will drive you to Kibale forest national park home to the country’s largest population of chimpanzees. Upon arrival you will check in and settle in for a nature walk along the forest with park rangers for maximum safety or opt for a community tour. Meal plan: half board, accommodation: Kibale forest camp

Day 10

Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

After a hearty breakfast, you will set off to the park headquarters and be briefed by the park warden about the dos and don’ts of the adventurous activity, the tracking might take about 3-4hours depending on the location of the chimpanzee communities in their natural habitat. After this thrilling activity, you will enjoy your lunch and later settle in for the breathtaking bigodi swamp walk in the bigodi wetland sanctuary a home to 200 bird species making it a perfect site for bird watching travelers viewing bird species such as papyrus gonolek, kingfishers, weavers and waxbills. Day 11

Drive to Murchison falls national park

A road trip will be worth a while at this time of the safari. Driving north Uganda’s largest protected area, Murchison falls national park. Along the way you can have stopovers for lunch or for taking photos of the amazing terrain of the pearl of Africa. Arriving in time will enable you visit the top of the falls giving you an opportunity to witness the tale of the world’s most powerful waterfall plunging its way through an eight meter gorge and leaving both you the visitors and the ground beneath it forever astonished. Day 12

Game drive and boat cruise

After enjoying the morning meal you, will settle in for a breathtaking morning game along this drive you will have possible sightings of animals like the African elephants, African buffalo, giraffes and predators like lions, hyenas and leopards. After enjoying lunch in the savannah you will settle in for an afternoon boat ride and have chances of viewing animals cool off and hydrate as well as regulating their body temperatures such as hippos, African elephants and the Nile crocodiles. Day 13

Rhinoceros tracking and drive to Kampala

Realizing that rhinos were on the edge of extinction, Uganda wildlife authority set up the Ziwa rhino sanctuary to be able to protect these critically endangered species. After having breakfast, you will checkout and drive to this sanctuary for rhinoceros tracking which might take about 1-2hours. At the completion of this activity you will proceed to Kampala city. Day 14

Kampala is one of east Africa’s busiest, vibrant and historically rich destinations in the country, having had breakfast; you will visit the city’s best destinations such as the kasubi tombs, Buganda kings palace, independence museum, Uganda museum and the independence monument. Having explored Kampala’s touristic offers you will settle in for dinner as you reminisce on the wild wonders and memorable experience and what an amazing safari it’s been. Meal plan: full board, accommodation: Via Via Entebbe

Day 15

The endemic shoe bill tour and drive to the airport for departure flight

The last day of the safari will come with yet another stunning adventure not just for the birdwatchers but also the lovers of nature’s beauty. After the morning meal you will drive to Entebbe for the shoebill tour, a prehistoric-looking bird with iconic features. then later enjoy a farewell drive to Entebbe international airport for departure.
