Itinerary

Day 1

Transfer to Mgahinga National Park

Wake up early, enjoy your breakfast, and be ready for pick-up by our company representative at around 7:00 am to begin the journey to Kisoro. You will make a stop at the equator for memorable photos and the experience of standing on the line itself, followed by a lunch stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre. From there you continue on to Kisoro, arriving in the evening to check in to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Meal plan: full board. Accommodation: Amajambere Camp.

Day 2

Gorilla Tracking and the Batwa Trail

This is the highlight of your safari. Wake up early, enjoy breakfast, collect your packed lunch, and meet your driver for the short transfer to the park, where you will receive a briefing on the rules and guidelines before setting off. Divided into small groups, each accompanied by a park ranger, you will trek through the rainforest and bamboo-covered slopes in search of a mountain gorilla family. Once they are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour in their presence, observing their behaviour and taking photographs.

If time and energy allow after your hour with the gorillas, you can join the Batwa trail. Led by members of the Batwa community, the forest's original inhabitants, you will venture into the bamboo forest to learn about their ancient way of life, from traditional hunting and gathering to the herbs they used as medicine, before closing the day with a warm display of Batwa music and dance. Meal plan: full board. Accommodation: Amajambere Camp.

Day 3

Return to Kampala

On the final day of your safari, wake up early and enjoy breakfast at the lodge before checking out and beginning the journey back to Kampala, with a stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre near Mbarara along the way. You will arrive in Kampala in the late evening and be dropped at your chosen destination, whether Entebbe International Airport or a lodge in Kampala, depending on your flight schedule.
